How it all began. What it's all about explained

"Playing for Change is a movement created to inspire and connect the world through music. The idea for this project came from a common belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome distances between people.
The true measure of any movement is what it gives back to the people. We created the Playing For Change Foundation, 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to building music and art schools for children around the world, and creating hope and inspiration for the future of our planet". - Playing For Change

Sara tells ELLE.com, “The way they record is fascinating,” she says. “Each person is recorded separately, and in all different places. You listen to the music in headphones and sing or play your part on top of whomever came before you. It makes you really listen to what is already there and want to add to the body of the song in a generous way. What is there is already so good, you just want to hopefully help the heart of it grow.”
